My sustained inquiry that led my portfolio was "How do my internal anxieties affect external consequences in relationships?"
In my practise, I focused on creating feeling; mellow, sometimes dreamy moods in various colour swatching (SI 8, 9, 11) and creating ideas related to the insecurities (SI 12) that usually used synetic triggers (SI 5, 11, 13,) emotional burden (SI 1, 13,) feeling trapped (SI 10,) or stretched thin (SI 11.) The difference of these anxieties inspired the range of materials with which I experimented (SI 1, 14) and chose to create said moods best (SI 2, 5, 15.)
During revision and specifically after SI 4, I made sure to have diversity in my pieces but connect them and reign myself in; to me, this cohesiveness is the human, emotional element in all works. Compositions and works such as SI 4 needed to be revised because the focus of this investigation is a purely human condition, thus I felt the works must hone in on this aspect to connect to the viewer, and to me (SI 3.) Regardless if the emotion is anguish (SI 13,) acceptance (SI 9,) or anger (SI, 10) they are all often cause or consequence of conflicts and misunderstandings in relationships.
